This Ancient Egyptian Menkaure Triad Statue is a masterful representation from the Old Kingdom, showcasing Pharaoh Menkaure (Mycerinus) flanked by two deities: the goddess Hathor and a local protective deity. The central figure, Menkaure, stands in serene dignity, embodying strength, fertility, and divine authority. Hathor, identified by her solar disk and cow horns, is depicted on his right, while the local deity, representing divine protection, stands on his left. The figures are carved from greywacke or schist, a dark stone known for its durability and fine grain, allowing for detailed artistry.
At the base of the statue, hieroglyphic inscriptions further honor the king and the gods, providing insight into the religious and political landscape of the period. The reverse side features a carved scene of a seated god bestowing blessings upon the king, surrounded by additional hieroglyphic inscriptions. This dual-sided artistry transforms the piece into a sacred stela, rich with symbolism and protective prayers.

Each piece at UNFRAMED Studio is handpicked for its distinct character and timeless beauty. As vintage ceramics, these items carry gentle traces of age — a faint scratch, a glaze variation, a small imperfection that speaks of their journey through time. They are not new, and they are not meant to be. Their value lies in the uniqueness that no modern production can replicate — a quiet individuality that reflects the taste and personality of their owner. We invite you to see beyond perfection, and to appreciate the warmth of time within each piece.
